Bendsneyder 11th on day1 Jerez test

Day 1 of Official Test action at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto has ended with Aron Canet (Fantic Racing) at the summit of the Moto2™ timesheets with a 1:41.136, with David Alonso (CFMOTO Aspar Team) fastest in Moto3™ thanks to his 1:44.356 effort. Canet’s FP2 time saw the Spaniard pip Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing) and Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Aspar Team) to top spot as the leading trio all stuck a 1:41.1 lap times in, with the latter duo sitting P1 and P2 in the final session of the day. It’s not just the top three that were close though as two Boscoscuro-chassis riders rounded out the top five and were just over a tenth shy of Canet’s quickest lap. Fermin Aldeguer (Sync SpeedUp) and MT Helmets – MSI’s Ai Ogura are the names in question, with the latter getting to grips with his new bike in Jerez having switched teams for 2024. Reigning Moto3™ World Champion Jaume Masia (Pertamina Mandalika GAS UP Team) was the fastest rookie on Wednesday as the Spaniard set a 1:42.271 to be just over a second away from the quickest time. Bo Bendsneyder set his fastest lap in session 2; just 0.525s slower than the fastest time. Resulting in 11th on the timesheets.
