From the start of the race, it looked like it could have been an exciting race for Bo Bendsneyder after a great start. Unfortunately, however, during the first few laps, Bendsneyder suffered a heavy crash at turn thirteen. The rider was taken to the medical centre where further medical assessments revealed a broken left collarbone and a severe impact to his left foot. Bendsneyder has been transferred to Barcelona for further checks and to begin the recovery process.

“Today was a bad day for us, I crashed in the last corner. It was like a slow highside and I landed on my left collarbone, also unfortunately I hit my foot. We still have to check further to make sure there is nothing broken in the foot and see how my evolution with the collarbone continues.”
