Bo Bendsneyder completed the race in seventeenth position, a bittersweet result marked by an incident on the first lap that marked the day. Despite making a good start once the lights went out, he had to avoid an incident at turn two, which saw him drop to the back of the grid. Over the course of the laps, the Dutchman managed to move up a number of places and came very close to reaching the points positions.
