Two hard-fought races

Bo took seven championship points in the two races at Catalunya this weekend. Both races were hard-fought. “I’m quit pleased with this weekend, both races went quit well, but we could have gotten some more points.” Starting from eighth Bo finished lap one as eleventh. After a few laps a nine rider group was formed behind the four frontrunners, battling for fifth. Bo was right in the middle of it and was easily following the pace. He was in ninth for quit some time. The first corner looked to be very difficult for him though. He ran wide a couple of times running of the track. “I wanted to much and two times I got off the track at that point.” The first time he didn’t lose a spot, but when it happened again in lap thirteen he had to pick it up again in thirteenth spot. With three laps to go he had to dodge a rider in front of him, almost falling of, wich cost him the connection to the group. A gap opened and he couldn’t close it anymore. He finished the race as twelfth. “I was in a good group directly after the start, but me running wide a few times, caused me to have to start from scratch. At this level you can’t make up that amount of time in a few corners anymore.”  In the second race Bo got closed in in the first corner losing him quit some spots, he had to take it up from nineteenth. “It took me a few laps to get back into my rythm, and I had to pass a lot of riders to get into the right group.” At the front a nine rider group was battling for the win, Bo was at the back of the group behind, fighting for tenth spot. Bulega and Sanchis were able to break clear from this group and get into the leading group. Bo worked his way up slowly and managed thirteenth at the end of the race. Data engineer Walter Jansen: “Bo was in the group he belongs in this championship. It is a big field of competitors where 10 to 15 riders can claim the spots behind the factory machines. It is really good to see how he is holding up here. Running off track a few times and dodging other riders, it’s all part of the game. He rode two very strong races.”
